Caraway

Charles William Brickell, 91, of Caraway died Thursday, May 3, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Batesville on April 20, 1916, to the late Theodore Leghorn and Teania Halsey Brickell. He was a barber in Caraway and member of Caraway Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Cannon Brickell of the home; a daughter, Mary Louise Branscum and husband, Danny, of Caraway; two sons and their wives, Charles Wayne and Glenna Brickell of Caraway and Danny Gene and Sandy Brickell of Sikeston, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Cindy Easley and husband, Bruce, Mike Brickell and wife, Rene, Eric Branscum and wife, Amy, Beth Smith and husband, Travis, Brian Brickell, J.W. Hackworth and wife, Kim, John Hackworth and wife, Stacia; eight great-grandchildren, Jeremy Williams, Anna Brickell, Abby Brickell, Braden Branscum, Madison Smith, mason Smith, Andrew Brickell and Baden Hackworth; a sister, Gladys Schisler of Sherwood, and a brother T.L. Brickell, Jr. of Seattle, Wash.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.

A celebration of his life was held Saturday at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Mike Noble officiating. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mike Brickell, Jeremy Williams, Brian Brickell, Eric Branscum, Gale Yates and Harvey Edward Faulkner.

Honorary pallbearers included nieces, nephews, friends and members of Caraway Church of Christ.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis or St. Bernards Medical Center Hospice.
