Kenneth K. Mays, 81, formerly of Monette, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007,at the VA Medical Center in Memphis.

Born in Monette on March 5, 1926 to Charles and Estella Wallace Mays, he was a descendent of pioneer Tucker Wallace of the Monette area. He was a retired farmer and served as a Marine in South Pacific during World War II.

He is survived by two brothers, Charles Mays of St. Louis and Robert Leon Mays of Long Beach, Calif.

A private service will be conducted at a later date, under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.
