Monette

Roy M. Whited, 55, of Monette died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at the Baptist East in Memphis. Born in Jonesboro on June 16, 1951, he was owner and operator of Whited Flying Service and Whited Farm, a U.S. Marine veteran serving in Vietnam and of the Baptist belief. He was also a member of Active Future Farmers of America, Ducks Unlimited, Active Wildlife Preservation, Arkansas Agriculture Aviation Association, National Agriculture Aviation Association and Manila Pilot Association.

He was preceded in death by a son, Zachary Aaron Whited, in December 2006.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Wallace Whited, and a son, Seth Whited, both of the home; his parents, Leroy and Letha Cornish Whited of Monette; a brother, Dan Whited of Jonesboro; two sisters, Beth Whited Thompson of Monette and Joanne Whited Branscum of Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Byrd officiating. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Pallbearers were Bob Cornish, Chris Pierce, Pee Wee Gathright, Steve Bright, Bill Craig, Gary Angelo, J.C. Helms, Jack Gathright, Ben Smithee, Mitchell Davis, Darrel Craft, Ray Chestnut, Kevin Wimberly, Bryan Rose, Donnie Tilton, Ricky Williams, Brandon Martin, Benny Martin, Brown Lacy, Jim Woodard, David Justus, Tommy Justus, Kim Imboden, Ken Dotes, Tyler Cornish, Mike Lowery, Ron Moss, Todd Emison, Shelby Cleghorn, Walt Wood, Allen Finch and Danny Finch.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Zach Whited Buffalo Island Central FFA Scholarship Fund, NEA Clinic Charitable Foundation, Ducks Unlimited or Monette First Baptist Church Family Life Center.
