Hornersville

Mildred Marie Langdon, 77, of Hornersville, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at her residence near Hornersville, Mo. She was born May 13, 1929, in Kennett, Mo., to the late Jesse Evans and Annie Phifer Evans. Mrs. Langdon was a lifelong area resident of the Hornersville community, a homemaker, and a longtime member of the Hornersville Baptist Church where she was very active with the youth and with the Bible School program for many years. She also retired from the Dunklin County library, Hornersville branch, where she served as the librarian for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Joe Langdon of Hornersville; a son, Paul Langdon, and wife, Dana, of Hornersville; a daughter, Susan Braden, and husband, Scott, of Kennett; a sister, Helen Wilkins, of Hornersville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Dunklin County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Mo., with Rev. J.E. Crews officiating, with Faith Funeral Service of Manila in charge of arrangements.
