Betty Jean Thompson Smith - Leachville

Betty Jean Thompson Smith, 78, of Leachville, formerly of Paragould, died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at her residence. Born in Paragould, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Cora Bryson Thompson and had been a Leachville resident since 1974. She was a homemaker and a member of Browns Chapel Baptist Church near Manila.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Thompson, Billy Thompson; two sisters, Louise Fry and Darlene Wilburn.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Smith, of Leachville; three sons, Darrell Coleman of Marmaduke, Steve Smith of Marion, Ind., and Greg Smith of Manila; a daughter, Debbie Hutchings of Converse, Ind.; four brothers, Bud Thompson and Joe Thompson, both of Paragould, Frosty Thompson of Rector, and Kenny Thompson of Warren; a sister, Linda Walker of Paragould; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Pruitt's Chapel Cemetery in Paragould with rev. Bill Good officiating. Services will be under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.
