Gledis Mae Hill - Monette

Gledis Mae Hill, 94, of Monette, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Rector, she lived most of her life in the Buffalo Island area. She was a homemaker and a member of Black Oak First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Brenner Gower of Monette, Linda Dees of Rockford, Ill., Virginia Brown of Simi Valley, Calif., and Kathleen Milligan of Lancaster, Calif.; and a son, Vernon Hill, of Lake City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Parker Hill; sons, G.L. Hill, Jerry Hill; Leroy Hill and Junior Hill; daughter, Dorothy North; and her parents, Adron and Amedia Yath Vowell.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in the Caraway Cemetery.
