Howard Billingsley

Paragould

Howard Billingsley, 73, of Paragould, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born at Franklin, he moved to Jonesboro in 1964 where he lived before moving to Paragould last year. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Strawfloor Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

Survivors include his wife, Ona Billingsley of the home; two daughters, Dian Carlton of Paragould and Robin Tharp of Glencoe; five grandchildren, Amie Cole of Paragould, Chad Carlton of Jonesboro, Misty Thomas of Leachville, Zac Tharp of Glencoe and Brina Carnet of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Harold Russell officiating. A graveside service followed at 2 p.m. in Robert's Cemetery near Franklin.

Active pallbearers were Mike Carlton, Chad Carlton, Steven Cole, James Tharp, Zac Tharp and Tim Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers were the men of Strawfloor Baptist Church.
