Genevieve K. Simpkins, 63, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at her home. She was born in Delight and lived in Delight and El Dorado before moving to Jonesboro two years ago. She was an elementary school teacher for several years having taught in El Dorado, Paragould, Wilson, Osceola, and Monette Schools. She was of the Church of Christ belief.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Simpkins, of the home; a daughter, Wendy Dyes, of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Billy Wilson, of Glenwood, Ariz.; two sisters, Sue Steed of Texarkana, Texas and Mary Lou Malden of Pine bluff.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Connie Wilson.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Delight Church of Christ in delight with Wallace Alexander officiating. Burial was in the Delight Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Hughes, Karl Steed, Max steed, Phil Steed, Grayson Malden, and Steve Hankins.

Honorary pallbearers were Kenny Hughes, Frank Stark, J.B. Hill, Roland Hill, Phill Lewallen, and Roland Nolan.
