John Thomas Hancock - Manila

John Thomas Hancock, 76, of Manila, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born at Bald Knob, he was the son of the late Lynn and Maudie Coker Hancock and had lived most of his life in the Manila area. He was retired from International Harvester in Chicago where he had lived for over 25 years. He returned to Manila in 1981 following his retirement and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Voader Fay Hancock of the home; a daughter, Brenda Fields of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie Hancock, and two daughters, Linda Hancock and Karen Biggs.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Eddie Hawkins and Rev. Burl Lloyd officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
