Max Albert James, 69, of Blytheville died Saturday, April 23, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born Sept. 7, 1936, in Marble Hill, Mo., to Johnny and Isabell Lincoln James, he was a retired truck driver for Bush Brothers after more than 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Nettie Houchin James; a son, Renny James of Cardwell; two daughters, Lanita Baker of Nashville, Tenn., and Vickie Parish of Blytheville; two brothers, Larry James of Greenville, Mo., and Jerry James of Marble Hill, Mo.; a sister, Joyce Young of Marble Hill, Mo.; and grandchildren, Jason Parish, Racheal Baker, Joey Parish, Jessica Parish Duncan, Kristyn James, Max Tyler James and Gunnar James; and a great-grandchild Lillie-Grace Baker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Jerrina Lynne James, and his first wife, Billie Blanche Poe James.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday) at Dogwood Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Anderson officiating.
