Lee Goodwin - Jonesboro

Lee "L.A." Goodwin, 63, of Jonesboro died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Cape Girardeau, he grew up in Jackson, Mo., before moving to St. Louis in the late 1950s, having worked for E.M. Siegel Candy & Tobacco, Budd Cigar Co. and was the owner of PV-4 Tires and Accessories. He spent 20 years with the Missouri National Guard retiring as a lieutenant colonel before moving to Jonesboro in 1988 as an agent with Craighead County Farm Bureau. He is a member of Military Officers Association of America; Freedom Masonic Lodge of St. Louis; Monette Masonic Lodge; Scottish Rite; Shriners of St. Louis.

Survivors include a long time friend, June Blair, of the home; two daughters, Myra Goodwin and Gina Goodwin, both of Jonesboro; a sister, Fannie Goodwin Wilder of Drake, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy E. and Dixie Fulenwider Goodwin.

A graveside service was held in Russell Heights Cemetery, Jackson, Mo., with Dr. Grant Gillard officiating.

Active pallbearers were Dale Buschman, Keith Jones, David Herbst, Frank Frimel, Mike Kunzelmann, and Billy Green.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Michael Isaacson, Dr. David Pyle, Dr. Marlan Rhame, Dr. Joe Tepley, Senator Jerry Bookout, Judge Dale Haas, Paul Buckel, Tom Cureton, Jack Gathright, Homer Grose, Todd Grose, John Linebaugh, John Purcell, Dan Samuels, Steve Skillern, Von Pausch, Bill Wichern, Gary Kesler, Craig McDaniel, H.T. Moore, Wayne Smith, and Roger Nelson.
