Lena Rose Layton - Leachville

Lena Rose Layton, 87, of Leachville, the widow of Jimmy Layton, died Sunday, April 17, 2005, at her residence.

Born in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Viola Ragland Killion, and had been a Leachville resident since 1953. She was a retired employee of Brown Shoe Company and was a member of the Leachville Second Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Charles A. Layton of Leachville; three daughters, Georgia Selby of Leachville, Jo Rita Hollis of Cardwell, Jewel Crites of Leachville; a sister, Geri Dietz of Owasso, Okla.; three granddaughters, Regina Selby of Leachville, Renee Lashley of Paragould and Lynn Campbell of Clarkton, Mo.; five grandsons, Dr. Roland Hollis and Spencer Selby, both of Paragould, Chuck Layton and Roger Layton, both of Leachville, and Bryan Crites of Manila; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today (Tuesday) at the Howard Funeral chapel in Leachville with Rev. Roger Haney and Rev. Russell Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in the Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Skinner, J.C. Oliver, Keith Evans, David Burrier, Leon Swihart and Ralph Hunter.
