Elizabeth Flannigan Eckman - Nashville, Tenn.

Elizabeth Flannigan Eckman, 51, of Nashville, Tenn., died at the St. Louis University Hospital March 30, 2005.

She was a music teacher, member of Brentwood Baptist Church, a children's choir coordinator and church organist. She taught vocal and piano lessons, graduated from Arkansas State University magna cum laude, graduated with a master's degree form Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and was listed in Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities, served in church ministries in Columbia, S.C., Springfield, Mo., Covington, Ky., and Brentwood, Tenn. She was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Sorority.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Eckman, of Nashville, Tenn.; her father, Robert Flannigan of Monette; a brother, Dr. Robert Flannigan, Jr. of Monette; a daughter, Cassie Eckman of Springfield, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Lee Flannigan, and a sister, Becky Flannigan Schlichting.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Glenn and Rev. Captain Lovell officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 7, at Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood, Tenn.

Active pallbearers were Dr. David Flannigan, Nick Viles, Scott Sergent, Pat Thelen, Kenneth Eckman, Bob Eckman and Howard Eckman.
