Dollie Crystal Jackson - Black Oak

Dollie Crystal Jackson, 88, widow of Thomas Jackson of Black Oak, died Monday, March 7, 2005, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City.

Born at Black Rock, she was the daughter of the late Charley and Oma Jones Jackson and had been a Black Oak area resident for the past 70 years. She was a homemaker, involved in the family farming operation before retiring in the early 1980s, and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by a son, Truman Jackson, of Lake City; two sisters, Cathelena Long of Monette and Lois Gonzalez of Santa Barbara, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Vietta Hammett and Freda Combs, both of Jonesboro; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Oscar Carter, Ralph Carter, Roy Carter, Lonnie Carter, and three sisters, Elsie Talley, Dorothy Jackson and Edith Gibbons.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. A committal service was held at 2 p.m. at the Coffeyville Cemetery in Bradford. Rev. Jerry Jolly officiated.
