Ralph Winford - Lake City

Ralph Winford, 77, of Lake City died Saturday, March 12, 2005, at St. Bernards Medical center in Jonesboro.

A Lake City native, he lived there most of his life and worked as a building contractor. He served in the Army Air Corps and was a Mason and a member of Lake City First Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Kenny Winford of Paragould; a daughter, JoAnn Newcomb of Lake City; two brothers, Ed Winford and Ronnie Winford, both of Lake City; three sisters, Wilma Stogsdill of Lake City, Janie Finley of Houston and Melba Caldwell of California; six grandchildren, Denny Newcomb, Chris Newcomb, Daron Newcomb, LeeAnn Tacker, Canaan Champion and Lance Winford; and six great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Lake City with Rev. Johnny Ross officiating. Burial was in Old Bethel Cemetery near Paragould under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Lake City.

Pallbearers were Denny Newcomb, Chris Newcomb, Jason Tacker, Kenneth Winford, Jackie Winford and Jeff Winford.
