Clifford M. Stephens, 80, of Arnold, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at his residence in Arnold. He was a retired maintenance worker for White and Rogers Company, a member of Arnold First United Pentecostal Church and had lived in Arnold 36 years, formerly of California. He was born in the Childress Community Sept. 30, 1924, the son of Thomas and Hattie Stephens.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Stephens of the home; six sisters, Joy Davis of Webster Grove, Mo., Pearl Howell of Paragould, Billie Shook of Paragould, Maxine Hinson of Jonesboro, Joan Roush of Columbia, Ill., Kay Stephens of Melbourne; a brother, Elmo Stephens of Cuba, Mo.; three sons, James Stephens of Arnold, Mo., Timothy Stephens of Fenton, Mo., and Daniel Stephens of Arnold, Mo.; a daughter, Brenda Dirden of Carbon Dale, Mo.; seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Stephens, and a sister, Evelyn Lackey.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Gregg Chapel in Monette with Rev. Virgil Marchbanks officiating. Burial was in the Macey Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
