Charles William Turner - Osceola

Charles William Turner, 59, of Osceola died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Memphis. A Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, he was youth leader and a member of New Beginnings gospel group and Eastside Baptist Church in Osceola.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Scott Turner of the home; a son, Chris Scott of Rogersville, Ala.; a daughter, Sherry Moody of Blytheville; a sister, Joan Crafton of Napanee, Ind.; two brothers, George Turner of Manila and Jimmy Turner of Floral; and two grandchildren, Nikki Barch and Brentney Barch, both of Blytheville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Lorine Rapert Turner.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Doty officiating. Burial was in Mississippi County Memorial Gardens under the direction of Roller-Swift Funeral Home of Osceola.
