Jerry Sparks - Jonesboro

A celebration service for Jerry Sparks of Jonesboro, formerly of Caraway, who died Sunday, Jan. 23, at his residence was held at 10 a.m. Jan. 25 at First Assembly of God, 1404 Stone Street.

The Rev. Mike Glover, the Rev. Carl Anders and the Rev. John Lee officiated and burial was in Memorial Gardens at Paragould. Services were under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Born in Southeast Missouri, he moved to Caraway where he farmed for many years. He later moved to Jonesboro and continued to farm until his retirement. He was chosen outstanding farmer of the year.

Survivors include his wife, Claudine Jackson Sparks of the home; three daughters, Gale Williamson, Debbie Perkins and Michelle Davis, all of Jonesboro; a sister, Betty Busby of Paragould; six grandchildren, Ashlee, Brooke, Jill, Brett, Paige and Beth, and four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Keely, Spencer and Lexie.

He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jeremy Davis, his parents and sister.
