Vera Lou Hall Ray - Lake City

Vera Lou Hall Ray, 59, of Lake City, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro She was born Nov. 16, 1945, at Lake City. She was a graduate of Bay High School and an employee of J.C. Penny in Jonesboro for 31 years. She was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include her husband, William T. "Bo" Ray of the home; two sons, Rodney Turney of Lake City and Chris Turney of Marked Tree; three brothers, Robert Hall of Greers Ferry, Larry Hall of Bay and Russell Hall of Lake City; a sister, Patricia Dailey of Chesapeake, Vir.; two granddaughters, Haley Turney and Abby Turney, both of Lake City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jester and Louise Hall, and a brother.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Roller-Farmers Union Chapel with Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be this evening (Tuesday) from 5-8 p.m. at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Chuck Ryan, Billy Ray Cooper, Terry Hall, Fred Heeb, Stanley Gulley, and Jimmy Griffin. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of J.C. Penney and the 1964 class of Bay High School.
