Almus Warren Matthews - Hermitage, Tenn.

Almus Warren Matthews, 92, of Hermitage, Tenn., formerly of Monette and Jonesboro, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Summitt Medical Center in Hermitage.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro with Rev. Everett Isom and Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating. Devane Baldridge gave the eulogy. Burial was in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Bob Hout, Jodie Brown, gene Gathright, Roger Jackson, Leonard McDaniel, H.M. Wimberly, Russell Strickland and Parnell Doss.

Honorary pallbearers included members of the Friendship Sunday school class at Cornerstone United Methodist Church.
