William R. "Dub" Meurer - Caraway

William R. "Dub" Meurer, 70, of Caraway died Friday, July 30, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

A native and lifelong resident of caraway, he was a retired brick mason and of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Meurer of the home; five daughters, Gail Ernest of Manila, Dianna Adams of Caraway, Cherrie Kassen of Jonesboro, Tanya Mardis of Marked Tree and Olline Bates of Norman, Okla.; five sons, Jimmy Wiley, William R. Meurer Jr. and Jerry Bynum, al of Caraway, Bruce Meurer of Lepanto and Jimmy Bynum of Paragould; five sisters, Alma Gandy of Jonesboro, Joy Brown of Paragould, Ruby Mears of Collierville, Tenn., Zeda Peek of Rockford, Ill., and Fay Medlock of Hardy; eight brothers, Jack Meurer of Bono, Chris Cagle, Floyd Cagle, Joseph Cagle and Perry Cagle, all of Fort Smith, Danny Cagle of Illinois, Robert Cagle of North Carolina and Marvin Cagle of Rockford; 22 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sally Meurer; his parents, Wilson and Virgie Barnes Meurer; four sisters; and two brothers.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel. Burial was private.
