G.W. Hill - Black Oak

G.W. Hill, 82, of Black Oak, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical center in Jonesboro.

A retired farmer and of the Baptist faith, he had lived in Black Oak a lifetime.

He is survived by eight sons, Jimmy Hill of Black Oak, Ronnie Hill of Jonesboro, Charles Hill of Black Oak, James and Gary Hill of Black Oak, Billy Hill of Bono, Craig Hill of Trumann, and Lawrence Hill of Black Oak; three daughters, Kathlene Morris of Florida, Betty Lovell of Jonesboro, and Donna Smalley of Van Buren; three sisters, Louise Fox and Dorothy Halfner, both of St. Louis, Mo., and Betty Owens of Wichita, Kan.; three brothers, Joe Hill of St. Louis, Mo., Jim Bradley of Bono, and Gene Finley of Wichita, Kan.; 42 grandchildren and 54 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eveline Hill, four brothers, a sister, and his parents.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gregg Fuenral Home Chapel in Monette with Rev. Willie Hill officiating. Burial was at the Monette Memorial Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home of Monette in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers were Michael Nail, David Thomas, Garry Thomas, Sammy McKee, William Smith and Jerry McKee.

Honorary pallbearers were Matt Lytle and Davey Hill.
