Irene Calvert - Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Irene Calvert, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Regional Medical Center North Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She was a retired beauty operator and member of Caraway Church of Christ. She had lived in Popular Bluff two years, formerly of Caraway.

She is survived by two daughters, Inis Kearbey of Poplar Bluff and Jo Ann and husband, James Godwin of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren, Alan and Cyndi Godwin of Poplar Bluff, Karen Kearbey and Kevin Kearbey, both of Memphis; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Calvert, on Nov. 17, 1979, and her mother and father.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Gregg Chapel in Monette with John Shadowens and Gale Yates officiating. Burial was in the Monette Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home of Monette in charge.
