Virginia Stokes - Leachville

Virginia Stokes, 77 of Leachville, formerly of Manila, died Tuesday, July 13, 2004, at her home.

Born at Manila, she was the daughter of the late William and Rosie Elizabeth Christie and had lived most of her life in Manila before moving to Leachville in 1998. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband, Harold Stokes of the home; two daughters, Gail Chipman of Manila and Debbie Stokes of Bremerton, Wash.; a brother, Talmadge Ray "Bo" Christie of St. Louis; three grandchildren, Carroll Wayne Chipman, Bradley Wayne Chipman and Dana Renee Towell; and a great-granddaughter, Bailey Nicole Towell.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Manila Cemetery with Rev. Craig Stull officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Howard Funeral Service.
