Linda Jean Dow Orr - Newport

Linda Jean Dow Orr, 41, of Newport died Saturday, June 19, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born at Leachville, she was a member of First United Methodist Church. She had lived in the Jackson County Learning Center since 1983.

Survivors include a son, James Alan Orr of Omaha; her father and stepmother, Albert and Cordie Lee Dow of Leachville; a brother, Albert Dow of Berryville; two sisters, Mary Ann Masters of Hartsville, S.C., and Marilyn "Tooter" Sevier of Clinton; 11 stepbrothers, James Thomas, Shot Thomas and Johnny Thomas, all of Leachville, Jack Thomas of Mountain Home, Bo Thomas of Oxford, Charles Thomas and Tony Thomas, both of Monette, and Bill Thomas, Danny Thomas, Dean Thomas and Harvey Thomas, all of Clinton; and six stepsisters, Bug Woodard of Fort Smith, Doodle Irwin of Catron, Mo., Tootsie Towell and Linda Pendergrass, both of Monette, and Debbie Pemberton and Joanie Cantrell, both of Leachville.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Jean Elder Dow, a brother and a sister.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church of Newport, with Rev. Charles Sigman officiating. Burial was at 2 p.m. in Macey's Cemetery at Monette under the direction of Jackson's Newport Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were John Thomas, Tony Thomas, Harvey Thomas, Dean Thomas, Danny Thomas, Bill Thomas, Jeep Thomas, Pewee Thomas, Bobo Thomas and Short Thomas.
