Maxine Stallcup Gregg - Jonesboro

Maxine Stallcup Gregg, 89, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center.

She was born and lived most of her life in Jonesboro. She was the owner and president of Gregg Funeral Home, Inc., and Gregg Insurance Company. She was a member of Northeast Arkansas Funeral Directors Club, Arkansas Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association and International Order of Golden Rule. She was a member of First United Methodist Church sine February 1936, a member of First United Methodist Women's Group and the Susannah Wesley Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Wheat Bridge Club and Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. She endowed the Maxine and Jesse B. Gregg scholarship Fund at Arkansas State University in 1988.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends, and her Gregg Funeral Home family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse B. Gregg, and two brothers, and her parents, Walter H. and Nora Bridger Stallcup.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Fred Haustein and Rev. Dick Halton officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.

Active pallbearers were the Gregg Funeral Home employees.
