Dorcas June Carr - Jonesboro

Dorcas June Carr, 80, of Jonesboro died Monday, June 7, 2004, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

She was born in Grubbs, and had lived in Jonesboro for 40 years, formerly of Caraway. She was a member of the Greensboro Road Church of Christ and was retired from General Electric.

Survivors include her husband, O.L. Carr Jr.; two sons, James David Carr of Jacksonville, Fla., and Paul Duane Carr of Jonesboro; four sisters, Joanne McDaniel, Maxine James, Frieda Huggins, and Wanda Thompson, all of Jonesboro; a brother, Larry Hale of Durant, Mich.; five grandchildren, James Travis Carr and Kimberly Niblick, both of Jonesboro, Angel Thayer of Sacramento, Calif., Russell Scarbrough of Rochester, N.Y., and Gwen Scarbrough of Sligo, Ireland; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Scarbrough.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Joe Kee officiating. Burial was in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Paul brown, John Beason, Bill Etter, Elbert Car, Bob Carr and Tom Krotky.

Honorary pallbearers were Warner Allen, Mike Carr, Dr. Hermie Plunk, Dr. A.G. Scarbrough, Jerry Orr and Bill Huggins.
