James Therion Vinson - Trumann

James Therion "Jimp" Vinson, 73, of Trumann died Monday, March 22, 2004, at his residence.

Born at Belmont, Miss., he had lived in Trumann all of his life. He was retired from the Singer co. and Columbia Forest Products and was a member of First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred "Midge" Vinson of the home; a son, Rick Vinson of Trumann; a daughter, Donna Vinson of Lake City; three sisters, Billy Jean Killian of Union City, Tenn., Sue Fagan of Trumann and Linda Welch of West Memphis; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Wayne Vinson; his parents, Otho and Hazel Bruton Vinson; and two sisters.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Darrel Miller officiating. Burial was in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Leroy May, J.W. "Dub" Roden, Bob Walton, A.C. Daniel, C.A. Jones and Perry Harness.

Honorary pallbearers were Edward Hargrove, A.C. Stacy, Cecil Passmore, Gayle Grimes, John Johnson, Keith Johnson, and Steve Johnson.

The family requests anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the First General Baptist Church of Trumann.
