Gertrude Horner - Senath

Gertrude Horner, 96, of Senath, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett. Born in Joplin, she was a charger member of Silverdale Extension Homemakers Club and a member of Senath First Baptist Church. She had been a longtime member of Shields Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Bickerstaff of Kennett, Louise England of Beebe and Betty Meredith of Jonesboro; two sons, Charles Horner of Kennett and Jim Horner of Dexter, Mo.; a brother, Carl Rodery of St. Charles, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, George Paul Horner.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of McDaniel Funeral Service in Senath with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating. Burial was in the Horner Cemetery at Hornersville.

Pallbearers were Kevin Meredith, Darrell Meredith, Brian Meredith, Tim Branum, Kerry Bickerstaff, Shayne Horner and Jason Byard.
