Roy Lee Carmichael - Manila

Roy Lee Carmichael, 63, of Manila, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was retired from Citizen's Bank and a member of University Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He had lived in Manila for two years, formerly of Jonesboro.

He is survived by four sisters, Betty Brewer of Mt. View, Thelma Adams, Vena Brewer and Francis Carmichael, all of Manila; four brothers, Lloyd Carmichael of Monette, O.C. Carmichael, Raymond "Shorty" Carmichael, and Buck Carmichael, all of Jonesboro; two sons, Jonathan Carmichael of Black Oak and Larry Haper of Paragould; a daughter, Amy Carmichael Dawson of Caraway; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Raymond and Mary Carmichael, and a son, Roy Alan Carmichael; and a brother, Bill Carmichael.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Black Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Don Miller officiating. Burial was in the Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Active pallbearers were Allan Carmichael, Keith Brewer, Jason Carmichael, Gary Carmichael, James "Bub" Platz, and Charles Planker.
