Lester Marvin Burrier - Cardwell

Lester Marvin Burrier, 83, of Cardwell, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at John J. Peshing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Born in cardwell, he worked with the Postal Service for 20 years and was of the Baptist belief. He was the owner of a trucking business and was retired from the Army and Airfoce, serving 21 years. He received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, World War II Victory Medal and United National and Korean Service medals.

Survivors include his wife, Kitty Burrier of Cardwell; six sons, Brian Keith Burrier and Bruce Kevin Burrier, both of San Antonio, Lester Marvin Burrier of Wright, Kennet Wayne Burrier of Coy, Daniel timothy Collingsworth of Paragould and Steven Kyle Burrier of Price; six daughters, Francis Alma Gamble of Spring Branch, Texas, Patricia Kay Thompson of Maramaduke, Brenda Sue Smith of England, Connie J. McCarcken and Sammie Lou Bronson, both of Lake Hill, Texas, and Sharon Annette Pawlik of Austin, T exas; a brother, Charles Henry Burrier of Gidding, Texas; four sisters, Lona Myrtle Burirer of Gidding, Ruby May Johnson of Sherman, Texas, Mary Lula Johnson of San Antonio, Texas, and Laura Elmer Allen of Lubbock, Texas; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Lucy Viola Prestage Burrier, two brothers, and three sisters.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Monday at Heath Funeral Home's Colonial chapel with Rev. Bill Snow officiating. Burial was in the Monette Memorial Cemetery.
