James Edgar Wright - Wynne

James Edgar Wright, 74, of Wynne, died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2003, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital in Wynne. He was born Nov. 30, 1928, at New Orleans, La. He had lived in Wynne for the past seven years, formerly of Batesville. He served with the 1370th Military Police Company during the occupation of Japan and he also served in the Korean War. He was a department manager for Magic Mart. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Twentieth Street Baptist Church in Batesville.

He is survived by his wife, Mary L. "Land" Wright, of the home; two sons, Mark Wright of Wynne and Steve Wright of Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; two daughters-in-law, Lisa Wright of Wynne and Alicia Wright of Fort Leavenworth, Kan.; three brothers, Lonnie Wright of Manila, Gene Wright of Lawton, Okla., and Butch Wright of Trumann; five sisters, Katy Harrison of Cardwell, Mildred Warren, Macil Fortson, Marcella Taylor, and Rebecca Graves, all of Trumann; and three grandchildren, Nicholas Wright, Kayla Wright and Aaron Wright.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Kathryn Davis Wright; two brothers, Floyd Wright and R.T. Junior Wright; three sisters, Mary Cullins, Georgia Harper, and Bessie Harris.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the First United Methodist Church in Wynne with Rev. Bill Eason officiating.

Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home of Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
