Jack Fincher - Caraway

Jack Fincher, 89, of Caraway, died Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Regional Medical Center of Northeast Arkansas. He was born in Blytheville and lived in Theodosia, Mo., before moving to Caraway in 1984.

He was a retired farmer, a member of the First Baptist Church in Caraway, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Morene Fincher, of the home; three daughters, Ceila Whitenton of Paragould, Karen Story of Caraway and Audrey Hawkins of Caraway; a son, Olin Powell of Caraway, a sister, Sue Workman of Lost Cane, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ila Fincher, his parents, Edward and Lilly Fincher, a sister, Opal Baugher, and three brothers, John Ed Fincher, Herman Vastbinder and Sam Fincher.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Caraway with Brother Rick Stevens and Brother Waymon Holt officiating. Burail will be in the Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Lake City.

Pallbearers will be Brant Tosh, Dwight Tosh, Gene Tosh, Craig Faulkner, Bill Riley, and Joe South. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult 1 Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church in Caraway, Dr. Dennis Parten, Dr. Eunar Tagupa, Kevin Tucker, Jeremy Tucker, Kenneth Luff, Ken Luff II, Jack Tucker, and Jack Tucker II.

Visitation will be held this evening (Tuesday) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Emerson Funeral Home of Lake City and also on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the First Baptist Church of Caraway.
