James Floyd Spencer - Manila

James Floyd "Pops" Spencer, 63, of Manila died Monday, April 7, 2003, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Manila, he was the son of the late Floyd Talmadge Spencer and had been a lifelong Manila area resident. He was retired from EIS Brake Parts and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church in Leachville.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Lawrence Spencer of the home; a son, Michael James Spencer of Manila; four daughters, Alanna Russell of Ash Flat, Sandra Foster of Joiner, Linda Foster and Vicky Chipman, both of Manila; his mother, Janie McClain of Leachville; a brother, Tommy Spencer of Leachville; a half brother, Freddy McClain of Leachville; a half sister, Karen Johnson of Memphis, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. April 10 in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Jerry Flagg officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Rick Lee Jr., Kevin Hawkins, Jason Hawkins, Shane Russell, Michael Whitehead and Lance Honeycutt.

Honorary pallbearers were William Lee and Allen Oates.
