Mona Corrine Palmer - Powhatan

Mona Corrine Palmer, 63, of Powhatan, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Salado, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Mattie Young Campbell and had been a longtime Manila area resident before making her home in Powhatan in 1995. She was employed by SB Power Tool Company in Walnut Ridge and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Palmer of Powhatan; two sons, Donald Brooks and Larry Brooks, both of Manila; a daughter, Kimberley Lawerence of Monette; four brothers, Cail Campbell and Jim Campbell, both of Black Rock, Troy Campbell of Powhatan and James Winford Campbell of Lake Mills, Wis.; two sisters, Mana Meeks of Pocahontas and Barbara Sue Campbell of Portia; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Dell Brooks in 1982 and Melton Brooks and by an infant daughter.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
