Noble Wilson Shelton - Jonesboro

Noble Wilson Shelton, 68, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at his home. Born at Manila, he was the son of the late Will Ed and Abbie Morris Shelton and had been a Jonesboro resident since 1991. He was a 1952 graduate of Manila High School and was retired from general Motors Truck and Bus division in Pontiac, Mich. Mr. Shelton served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jean Reese Shelton, of the home; a son, Barry Shelton, of Fenton, Mich.; a daughter, Cindy Shelton Evans, of Sparks, Nev.; a brother, Boyd Shelton, of Jonesboro; three sisters, Joyce Jacobs of Gautier, Miss., Mavis Odell of Lafayette, La., and Nikki Shelton of Acworth, Ga.; five grandchildren, Jason Evans, Brian Evans, David Evans, Andrea Shelton and Aaron Shelton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene and Joe Shelton, and his sister, Glenda Duckworth.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Monday at Howard Funeral Chapel in Manila with Rev. Craig Russell officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Richard Evans, Barry Shelton, Jason Evans, Brian Evans, David Evans, Aaron Shelton and Bill Dresbach.
