Bessie Eggers Baker - Monette

Bessie Eggers Baker, 89, of Monette, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at Monette Manor. She was a homemaker, member of Monette Church of Christ and had lived in the Monette area a lifetime. She was co-owner of Bess and Lavern's Flower Shop for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Laverne Bupp, of Monette; a grandson, Marcus Bupp of Monette; four great-grandchildren, Eric Bupp, Aaron Bupp, Jordan Perrin, and Nathan Perrin, all of Monette; two great-grandsons, Remington Bupp, and Brice Jackson, of Monette; five nieces and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Baker, who was deputy sheriff for Craighead County in 1947, her father and mother, George and Ella Eggers, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Perrin, and two brothers.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Monette Church of Christ with Larry Woodward officiating. Burial was at the Monette Cemetery with Gregg Funeral Home of Monette in charge of arrangements.

Grandsons and great-grandsons served as pallbearers.
