Bill Matheny Sr. - Lake City

Bill Matheny Sr., of Lake City, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. He had lived in Lake City for eight years moving here from Gainesville, Ga.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta Matheny of Lake City; a son, B.J. Matheny of Lake City; a daughter, Misty Courtios of Springfield, Mo., three brothers, Carroll Matheny of Metamora, Ill., Ray Matheny and Howard Matheny, both of Bayview Gardens, Ill.; four sisters, Kay Courtway of Spring Bay, Ill., Rosemary Hodson of Pekin, Ill., Janie Giosta of Peoria, Ill., Linda Jo Davis of Lake City; four grandchildren, Jake Courtois, William Matheny, Kyle Courtois, and Levi Courtois.

A funeral service was held at 8 p.m. Wednesday night at Emerson Funeral Home in Lake City with Eulogist John Davis. Burial was private.

A memorial service will be held at the American Legion in Bayview Gardens, Ill., at 4 p.m. Jan. 24.
