Michael Anthony Sharp - Lake City

Michael Anthony Sharp, 15, of Lake City, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, in Memphis. He was born in Jonesboro and lived his lifetime in Lake City.

He was a sophomore student at the Riverside High School, a member of the FCCLA, was active in baseball, and was of the Methodist belief.

Survivors include his mother, Darla Sharp, of the home; his father, Victor Sharp, of Jonesboro; his stepfather, Brian Bomer, of the home; his brother, Asa Bomer, of the home: two stepbrothers, Justin Flowers of Jonesboro and Joshua Bomer of Tuckerman; a stepsister, Amanda Bomer, of the home; his paternal grandmother, Carol Sanders of Imboden, his paternal grandfather, Jerry Sharp of Jonesboro; his paternal great-grandmother Emma Lee Sharp of Jonesboro.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Wanda Burnside.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Emerson Funeral Home Chapel in Lake City with Rev. John Lemmons and Rev. Larry Ward officiating. Burial was in the Pine Log Cemetery under the direction of the Emerson Funeral Home of Lake City.

Pallbearers were Deric Walley, Joshua Bomer, Keith Creekmore, Bradley Rouse, Tim Lawrence, and Bo Harmon.

The Sophomore class of the Riverside High School will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Arrangements were under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home in Lake City.
