Ruth Marie Gibson - Lake City

Ruth Marie Gibson of Lake City died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City.

Born in Mississippi County, she had lived in the Lake City area most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lake City United Methodist Church where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Paragould Order of the Eastern Star and the Dixie Extension Homemakers Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Ann Garner of Lake City, and Joyce Box of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Becky Baker, Brenda Forthman, Bobby Box and Gregg Garner, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Gibson; her parents, Wylie and Wylie Thompson McGaughey; and a daughter.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating. Burial was in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Greg Garner, Aaron Garner, Bobby Box, Derek Pike, Ronnie Forthman and Tom Baker.

The family requests that anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Lake City United Methodist Church or the Building Fund at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Jonesboro.
