Agnes Fairchild - Manila

Agnes Leola Fairchild, 89, of Joplin, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at a local health care center after an illness. She was born April 22, 1913, in Mano, Mo. She was the daughter of the late Claude Stubblefield and Jayne Varner Stubblefield and moved to Joplin last month. She moved to Manila in 1932 and lived several years in Monett, Mo. A homemaker, she and her husband farmed cotton for many years while living in Arkansas. She was a member of the Manila United Methodist Church.

On April 4. 1942, she married John Fairchild in Monette. He preceded her in death in 1997.

Survivors include a brother, Lowell Stubblefield of Aurora, Mo.; a sister, Dolores Pennel of Joplin; a niece, Donna Mitchell; five nephews, Gary, Dennis, Jimmy and Earl Stubblefield and Roger Pennel.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) at King's Prairie Cemetery near Monett with Rev. Richard Manley officiating under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.

The family requests that anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Manila United Methodist Church.
