Mollie Lou McElroy - Monette

Mollie Lou McElroy, 61, of Monette, died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born at Wynne, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Lessie Hudson Evans and had been a Monette resident since 1960. She was a homemaker and attended Calvary Full Gospel Church in Cardwell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Lynn Newcomb; two brothers, Calvin and Sammy Evans; a sister, Mildred Harris and a grandson, Chad McElroy.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Floyd McElroy of Monette; a daughter, Beverly Carol Grady of Monette; three brothers, Donald Evans of Tallahassee, Fla., James Evans of East Peoria, Ill. and Kenneth Evans of Omaha, Neb.; seven sisters, Agnes Williams of Rector, Katherine Murray of Wynne, Nora Peeler of Ash Flat, Jewel Swink of Rector, Emma Williams of Phoenix, Ariz., Fannie Lewis of Sacramento, Calif. and Joan Greenway of Rector; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Saturday in the Howard Funeral Chapel in Leachville with the Rev. Jim Dement officiating. The family received visitors Friday evening at the funeral home.
