William Herbert Adams - Caraway

William Herbert Adams, 84, of Caraway died Friday, June 28, 2002, at his home. A retired farmer, he was a member of Caraway First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and Sunday School superintendent for 25 years. He was born in Caraway and lived in Craighead County a lifetime.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorene Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Evon Stone Adams of the home; two sisters, Mary Miller of Transylvinia, La., and Imogene Sullivan of Neelyville, Mo.; a brother, Alex Adams of Mammoth Spring; two daughters, Sondra South and Donna Smith, both of Caraway; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services were Monday at 2 p.m. at the Caraway First Baptist Church, Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Burial was in Caraway Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.

Active pallbearers were Hunter Miller, Randy Couch, Curtis Miller, Kenny Weathers, Dwight Whittenburg and Kenny Qualls,

Honorary pallbearers were Sonny Miller, Edwin Johnson, Rickey Spargo, Floyd Johnson, Bernie Moore, Orwell Moore and the men of Caraway First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Caraway First Baptist Church or the Caraway Ambulance Service.
