Harry Ancel Chapin - Manila

Harry Ancel Chapin, 90, of Manila, died Dec. 11, 2001, at Manila Nursing Center in Manila. Born at Hornersville, he was the son of the late Joe and Bertha Edmonson Chapin and was a lifelong Manila area resident. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Manila.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Singleton Chapin of Manila; a daughter, Peggy Long, of Union City, Tenn.; a half-brother, Joseph Chapin of Walnut Ridge; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service.
