Mary Sue Murphy Payne - Bono

Mary Sue Murphy Payne, 72, of Bono, died July 22, 2001. She was born March 28, 1929, at Lake City.

Survivors include five sons, Donald Murphy of St. Louis, Kenneth Murphy of Bono, Larry Murphy of St. Louis, Mike Murphy of St. Louis, and Dennis Murphy of Lake City, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Lee Matheny and Charlotte Cothern, and a grandson, Kenneth Murphy.

The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. July 24 at the First Baptist Church in Lake City with Rev. Wayne Sanders and Rev. Scott Miller officiating. Burial was in the Pine Log Cemetery at Brookland.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
