Hugh Leland Driskill - Black Oak

Hugh Leland Driskill, 76, of Black Oak, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at his home. Born at Batesville, he was the son of the late William Dixie and Elizabeth Driskill. He had been a former longtime Monette resident and had lived in Black Oak for the past five years. He was a Navy veteran and a retired machinist. He was also a member of the Monette Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife, Gerttie Copeland Driskill of the home; a son, David Driskill of Monette; a daughter, Linda Goodson of Lake City; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Sherman Dale Driskill.

The funeral was held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Billy Moore and Rev. Carl Blankenship officiating. Burial was in the Macey Cemetery.
