Floyd Milton DeSpain - Manila

Floyd Milton DeSpain, 92, of Manila, died Thursday, June 21, 2001, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Blytheville. Born at Carbondale, Ill., he had been a Manila resident for most of his life and was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Norma Grable DeSpain, of the home; two sons, Jim DeSpain and Tom DeSpain, both of Manila; two daughters, Glenda Killough and Brenda Haynes, both of Blytheville; two sisters, Mae Staples and Alice Morrow, both of Ann Arbor, Mich.; five grandchildren, David A. Garner, Jr., Jennifer L. Garner, Michael D. Killough, Jamie C. Cole and William Floyd DeSpain; and two great-grandchildren, David A. Garner, III and Loren Rylee Garner.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John DeSpain and James DeSpain, and a sister, Effie Schaeffer.

The funeral was held at 4 p.m. Sunday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy and Rev. Randy Lemmons officiating. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery.
