Helen Ioan Curtin - Jonesboro

Helen Ioan Curtin, 70, of Jonesboro, formerly of Cardwell, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at Beverly Health Care Center in Jonesboro. She was the widow of Francis "Fritz" Curtin and was a retired beautician. She had lived most of her life in Cardwell until moving to Jonesboro a year ago. She was a member of the Cardwell First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Michelle Wilson of Jonesboro, Laura Bissell and Mark Bissell, both of Jackson, Miss.; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Wilson of Jonesboro; two brothers, Louis Gooch of St. Petersburg, Fla., and John Gooch of O'Fallon, Mo.; three sisters, Juanita Shatley of Eureka, Mo., Louise Barlow of Moscow Mills, Mo., Ella Gooch of Pacific, Mo.; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Harrison and Bertha Gooch; her daughter, Karan Bissell; her son, Michael Curtin, and three brothers.

The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Leland DeMent officiating. Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mark Bissell, Laura Bissell, Michelle Wilson, Chris Wilson, Jerry Mark Gooch and Ben Walker.
