Kelly Don Flippo - LaPorte, Texas

Kelly Don Flippo, 42, of LaPorte, Texas, formerly of Manila, died Saturday, May 12, 2001, at his home. Born at Paragould, he was the son of the late Harold Roy Flippo and had lived in LaPorte for the past 14 years. He was a graduate of Manila High School and was noted as an outstanding baseball player during his high school career. Mr. Flippo was a shipping clerk for FINA Petroleum in LaPorte and was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by a son, Brandon Flippo of LaPorte, Texas; his mother, Lola Flippo Rice of Manila; his grandmother, Roxie Kincade of Hoxie; two brothers, Dennis Flippo of Hoxie and Randy Flippo of Walnut Ridge; two sisters, Debby Hamilton and Kim Malloy, both of Manila.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Teresia Flippo.

The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Mr. Herbert Knight officiating. Burial was at 4 p.m. in Lawrence Memorial Park at Walnut Ridge.

Pallbearers were Woody Branum, Doug McCormick, Johnny Morris, Nicky Bunch, Steve Shelton and Ricky Jackson.
