Monteen Elizabeth Finley - Leachville

Monteen Elizabeth Finley, 81, of Leachville, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at her home. Born at Batesville, she had lived in Leachville for most of her life. She was a 1937 graduate of Leachville High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church where she taught the Ruth Bible Class for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Finley of Leachville; a granddaughter, Kimberly Lynn Kegley of Carlisle; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Elizabeth Kegley of Carlisle; a brother, Gerb Jones of St. Louis, Mo.; and a sister, Anna Ruth Green, of Blytheville.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Wayne "Sonny" Finley, in 1990.

The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Burial as in the Leachville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were James Keith, Chad Jackson, Michael Boone, Gary Woodsmall, Rick Jones and Bob Wells.

Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Keith, Kenny Jackson, Randy Jackson, Steven Boone, Larry Boone, Dennis Bone, Mike Jones, Tim Wells, Rick Finley, Jerry Finley, Jimmy Finley and Danny Greene.

The family requests that anyone wishing to leave a lasting memorial consider the Leachville First United Methodist Church.
